Laval : Celebrating 50 years of fun, history and culture

This year, Laval celebrates its 50th anniversary with shows and concerts, sports activities, street festivals and exhibitions. The summer’s main event will be Insula, a show comprised of videos, photos, laser effects and animations projected onto an immense wall of water that tells the history of Laval and the stories of its inhabitants.

Laval is without a doubt the perfect destination for your summer family outings.

One must-see spot is the Cosmodôme, where visitors can learn more about space exploration and participate in a virtual space mission. The whole family will love experiencing the freefall portion of a parachute jump at SkyVenture, indoor surfing at Maeva Surf or wall climbing at Clip ‘n Climb – all located at Centropolis.

Among this summer’s newest attractions is the Vaccines exhibition presented at the Armand-Frappier Museum.

Designed for adults and children alike, this exhibition invites us to explore the myths and realities of this hot topic.

Those who dream of flying a fighter plane can now do so at the flight simulation centre AeroSim Experience.

For those interested in history and heritage, a tour of Old-Sainte-Rose lets visitors explore the architectural wealth of that borough, which was a popular summer resort many years ago and is now known for the excellence of its restaurants and boutiques.

Outdoor enthusiasts can wrap up the tour with a visit to Parc de la Rivière-des- Mille-Îles, where the warm season heralds the return of musical tours by rabaska canoe.

There’s more to explore in Laval.
