Montreal libraries

Montreal has 45 library locations to explore— and one Bibliobus, or “bookmobile”. They are home to a wide variety of documents (paper and electronic books, periodicals, CDs and DVDs) and provide free wireless Internet access.

Each library is located in a building with its own unique architecture. You can explore them one by one, discovering historic former city halls, former churches, or new building complexes in a contemporary style. Two new additions to the library network have even won awards, and are well worth a visit: The Marc-Favreau Library and the Bibliothèque du Boisé.

Montreal is a city of culture and education that shares its knowledge and, above all, passes on its history to new generations. Visiting our libraries is a perfect introduction to that aspect of life here!
